EZ-MES Manual for Demos: Automated Chip Testing
Introduction
This page contains instructions on how to use the EZ-MES system. Most examples are
tailored to a company that is testing large volumes of IC's. These IC's are supplied
by their customers in Lots. Lot sizes are in the order of thousands to tens of thousands.
When a lot is received the chips in the Lot will follow specific test sequence that is
defined by a Traveler. Dependent on the test results during the flow, chips can be
rejected, binned or the whole lot can be put on hold.
Some of the tests will cover multiple shifts and require specific setups for
test equipment and require specific breakdown procedures. All Lot and Equipment
data during the flow has to be collected.
Problem Description
This specific demo addresses the following specific requirements:
- Full traceability for Lots
- Splitting and combining of Lots maintaining full Lot traceability
- Automatic binning of parts within a lot
- Recording of data during the test steps
- Due to the large number of chips for a single test step, the system
should know (based on the entry of the operator) if the lot is finished
testing, if not it should be resubmitted to the same test for the next
shift
- The most recent Work Instructions available at the point of action
- Clear overview of the current status of testing and progress reports
Sequence for General Demo
The following demo will go through the following:
- Starting the Application
- Create and move a TR100116 R1 Traveler
- View the results in Reports
- Other Features
1 Start the EZ-MES application
The following links explain in detail how to start the browser (the best browser
settings), go to the website and login, and what to expect after login.
2 Create and Move a Traveler
After login, the Traveler desktop will be shown and from here new travelers can
be created. After a Traveler is created it can be moved by using the Traveler
dialog / form.
3 Reporting
EZ-MES gives a number of reports to view the progress:
4 Other Features
If time allows, more features of EZ-MES can be shown:
TR100116 R1 Traveler (Operator)
TR100116-R1 Example from Operator Perspective
Parts
Parts (a.k.a. as Part Records) in EZ-MES are a representation of real world parts.
Any real world part you would like to track has a counterpart in EZ-MES.
If parts travel in Batches / Lots and be distinquished from each other
they can be combined in a Part Record with a quantity.
To mimic the parts movement through your production, EZ-MES is using Travelers.
Travelers can be seen as a container that can contain parts.
