Create New Equipment Record

The Equipment Record is the EZ-MES Object that is the representation of real-world equipment.

There are a number of ways you can create new Equipment Records:

• Create a new Equipment Record from the Equipment Definition Form.
• Create a new Equipment Record using the Inventory Adjusment Form.
• By creating Equipment Record on a Flow Record Form.

The Equipment Record is a special type of Part Record so the ways to create New Part Records will apply to the creation of new Equipment Records as well.

Requirements to create new Equipment Records

To create a new Equipment Record, you first need the following:

• Equipment Definition (Aka Type of Equipment or Equipment Category)

  If the Equipment Type / Definition for the type of equipment you would like to create does not yet exist, then you first have to create a new Equipment Definition.

• Make Equipment Flow Definition

  If you do not yet have a Flow Definition that can create this specific type of equipment you first have to Create a New Flow Definition. The Flow Definition configures a number of properties for any new Equipment Records

  NOTE: In general you would like to have individual traceability for each piece of equipment. This means that you would like to assign a unique name to the Equipment Record. The only way to do this is to move the Equipment Record through a Step Definition that assign a Unique ID.
